UPLINC JOBS

There will be UPLINC jobs offered again this spring term. They will be for those dedicated students who enjoy working in the garden and who need extra pocket change. UPLINC will pay minimum wage. Applications will be available during the next Environmental Meeting. If applications aren't available, Mr. Thoman will inform everyone when the applications will be available.

ESF-ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS EXPERIENCE

SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry will be offering Kennedy Students an all expenses pain trip to ESF. It will be from Jne 24 to June 29. You will interact with current SUNY College of ESF students and learn about the excellent academic programs in ESF. You will also attend daily workshops and presentations, explore local urban Environmental Justice Issues, visit the Adirondack Nature Center, spend a fun-filledday at the Enchanted Forest Water Safari, and also experience college living in the residence halls at Syracuse University. Don't Miss Out, apply as soon as possible because there are limited spaces available in Wednesday Meeting.

Requirements for Camping Trip

         As you all should know, the only thing you need to go on this camping trip is hours. You must make an effort to help out in the garden and also to volunteer some of your time to the club. There are only 20 spots for this trip and on Monday, May 21st we will start inviting students. Guys, get ready to work. We have a lot of plans and a lot to do. There is something to do for everyone, even those who don't like to get there hands dirty, so guys sign up and ENJOY!

DATES TO REMEMBER!

March 14th- Next Meeting, Wednesday.

March 17th- Brooklyn Blooms Day, Anyone interested meet Mr. Thoman at 8:30 on 231st and Broadway.

April 26th- Bake Sale???

March 16th- Friday, Garden Work from 3:30 to 4:30 pm

March 24- Grow Together Conference in Hostos COmmunity College.

April 28th, Spuyten Duyvil- Volunteer day in park.

April 20, 2001- We will be getting visitors from Georgia. The Blank Family will be coming to visit our garden and to see how it runs. Mr. Blank is the CEO of Home Depot and Home Depot is planning on donating money to the cause of community gardens.

April 8th and 9th- Trail race- need volunteers to guide the racers during the race.

May 5, 2001- Wave Hill Workday. Spring opening day on saturday. We will be using mulch, fixing paths, and planting. Lunch will be served for those who volunteer to help out.

CANDY 

We can't order more candy until we get all the candy money back, so members if you owe candy money, pay as soon as possible. Hopefully, we will order another shipment of candy in March. If you have candy money, take it to our treasurer- Yashira, or Mr. Thoman.

GOOD NEWS....

 As soon as the weather clears, we will start working in the garden. So, get ready guys, its GO TIME!
